iPhone EMT

So, my wife and I have hit the road.  I don’t know why anyone would hit the road – it cannot hit back after all, and it all seems like such pointless violence, but heck we’re in Boston and that is apparently what one does.

As seasoned travelers (again, why seasoned?  Did we forget the salt and pepper? AGAIN?) we left our Airbnb to go to the train station. While in the car, I suddenly jerked about – I thought I left my phone behind causing my wife to jump and the taxi driver to slam on his brakes (or not; taxi drivers have no regard for their own safety much less yours).

Fortunately, there was no emergency. I had my phone.  Sighs of relief were involved.

Face it – we are now physiologically connected to our phones. It occurs to me that EMT’s must be trained for this sort of emergency – diagnosing someone who is conserving power, who’s shut off, or who’s Wi-Fi is down (I leave this to your imagination). Or the worst case – they lost their phone entirely and are searching the entire city of Boston in a pure panic.

I do not know how Boston’s brave men and women tackle such cases, but I am sure a USB port and Dongle are involved.

I do know this – once we get to Connecticut, say hello to our now-journalist daughter and unpack, we will season ourselves with a bit of wine and good cheer. The phone will be turned off.

  3. What’s a Dongle? Never mind, I don’t want to know cause I’ve got enough problems dealing with USB ports and how to tell Siri to find my phone.
